Closure due to Fire Finally we have good new!! Work has finally started on The Jews House Restaurant after 18 months of Neglect, the council have given the go ahead to the contractors to get the hammers out. We have been waiting in anticipation, as I am sure a lot of you (our customers) have! Now we can start planning the refurbishment, choosing the colour schemes, etc. the excitement of planning the seasonal menu and the Christmas menu’s, as it will be upon us in no time. We must take this opportunity to thank all the support we have been given by customers and friends who are looking forward to our return. Please believe us when we say we have been waiting for this moment for a very long time. Although work has started we don’t want to get carried away and give an opening date yet, but we are working with the builders and will keep you informed of their progress. The work is estimated to take 8 week unless we have any delays. September is the month we hope to be open. Just in time for the start of the game season! When the restaurant re-opens we will have different wine and food evenings, for example Fish nights, Tapas nights and Tutored wine and food evenings with Simon our wine friend. Over the past 18 months we had time to reflect on what needs changing. With help from an interior designer friend we have some new ideas so we hope to give the restaurant a warmer feel and atmosphere. Week One Having put the plan together for everything from the radiators to the plug sockets we started clearing out of all our possessions. Humberstone and Pulford contractor started stripping out of carpets, the old heating system, and the damaged roof. Luckily none of the original features of The Jews House were damaged.
